New Beers and Possible New Beers…

Our friends at Tree Brewing in Kelowna have enlarged their character pack for the winter season, moving from an 8-pack to a more traditional 12.  And here’s the kicker: as well the Thirsty Beaver Amber Ale, Kelowna Pilsner and Cutthroat Pale Ale, they have included a beer available in only this offering.  Vertical Winter Ale is also nestled in among the others, waiting for you to try it.  Luckily enough’s man-about-town (me) was able to obtain a sample and selflessly test it on your behalf.  Dark, malty and lightly spiced, showing lots of vanilla on the scent and finish- it shares a few common qualities with another exceedingly popular winter ale…  Howe Sound Brewing of Squamish may or may not be producing a Cascadian Dark Ale called Gathering Storm (remember, you didn’t hear it from me).  As with anything produced by the team at Howe Sound, I can’t wait to give it a go (I mean, if they actually make something called that).  Don’t expect to see it for a month or so (if it exists).
