Yes, you read that correctly. However, the company plans on using more than just the beer drawer (some people call it the vegetable crisper). Expect to see the Kelowna company taking up some space on your condiment shelf, as well as moving in to the meat drawer (usually located near the beer drawer). The brewery has partnered up with Taste Of the Okanagan Specialty Foods to produce a line of beer-based sauces and jelly. And since that seemed like a great plan, they also teamed up with BeerBrats to creat Tree Brewing Hophead IPA Butter Chicken Sausage. Given the outstanding ability of beer to match up to food, this idea seems like a natural fit. To date the sauces are Tree Brewing Stoned Mustard, Beer Barrel Peach Salsa, Blasted BBQ Sauce and Hopped Pepper Jelly- all are available at the brewery. The sausages can also to be found there as well as at local farmer’s markets in the lower mainland. We will be trying the condiments in the upcoming weeks and will keep you posted.
